Problem: Using 2 users, mine & my son's. While logged on
to my son's screen, we try to install a program from CD.
Load CD, in Explorer, navigate to CD-ROM contents, click
setup.exe. The lower-right window 'install shield
wizard' opens...does it's thing, then we get a window in
center of screen with the following text. "Setup has
detected uninstall shield is in use. Please close and
restart setup ... error 432". The uninstall shield is
NOT in use. Any suggestions?

This appears to be a common problem with many programs
and is specific to the program you're trying to install.
I'd suggest going to the program's website or the company
that makes the program and do a search for the error your
getting (uninstall shield is in use Error 432) or some
variation of that.

Below is an EXAMPLE of another person with a similar
problem but different program and the solution. It took
me less than 30 seconds to find this using Google search.

A. Solution: Delete all instances of IsUninst.exe from
the Windows directory and try running your setup again.
Do a find for "IsUninst.exe" (no quotes). Delete all
found IsUninst.exe files from C:\Windows, C:\WINNT, or
C:\Winn-XP Run installation again If IsUninst.exe can't
be deleted because it's in use, please try to reboot the
machine and run the setup again
