Uninstalling

When I use 'add and remove programs' to try to remove programs from my
computer a lot of them say "could not open INSTALL.log file."

You'll need to reinstall the programs so it creates a install.log.
Without a install.log, you cannot uninstall a program since
the uninstaller does not know where to find the program's
registry information necessary for an uninstall.

If a program will not uninstall the easiest thing to do is re-install it and
then uninstall it.
