Unexpected error; quitting

P

Peter Lapic

After installing AntiSpyware, it appears it only works under my account to
which I install it from.
If another user switches over to their login they get the Error dialog box
popup on startup with

"Unexpected error; quitting"

You click OK and it just keeps popping up.

This happenned before and now after I've installed SP2.
It also happens if I uninstall and reinstall under a different login then
those other logins won't work.

What the heck does it mean?

Peter

Have you tried posting your problems
not related to MS AntiSpyware to
news://msnews.microsoft.com

and please don't bother to send me private mail
because I don't check my mailbox regularly

Yes I and the other users are already part of Admin group.
I suspect the problem might be the setup install is based on user instead of
system.
However when I attempt to install it under another user login the setup then
wants to uninstall the existing installation.
Is there some log file I could check that might explain further what the
actual error be?

Peter

There's an errors.log file in the install directory--typically c:\program
files\Microsoft Antispyware.
