unexpected error;quitting error message

Heather

All of a sudden my Microsoft Antispyware is not working.
Upon startup I get an error 101 (unexpected error;
quitting). Then it says to close the program and
restart; and/or to try unistalling and reinstalling. I
have tried, but now get the following error messages:

Can't unregister/register the following DLLs so I can't
complete the uninstall or reinstall:
gcAntispywarelibrary.dll
gcASPPrivacy.dll
gcASSoapLib.dll
gcTCPObjLib.dll
gcASThreatAudit.dll
gcSoftwareUpdateLib.dll

If I use the Start->Run command to register them, I get
0x80004005 error message stating it failed.

How can I get my AntiSpyware to start working again?

Thanks,
Heather

I have also tried these fixes, however none of them have
solved the problem. I have a Windows XP Pro laptop.

Also, I have tried the "update" from the Control panel,
launching Dcom, disabling the gcasserv.exe process -- all
the things recommended, however I can't get it to work yet.

Just wanted to give you an update. I've spent a few hours
trying to find a solution....none yet :(

The most likely scenario is that this is a Security Permissions fault: you
do not curerntly have sufficient rights to do what you are trying to do.

Clearly MSAS was installed once before on your PC. You should ensure that
waht you are trying to do now is done while logged in under the same account
that installed MSAS last time. You must use an account with Administrator
rights to install or uninstall, and it must be the same one as used before.
