unable to see the slidelayout view

When I bring up the slide layout menu, the actual layout choices are not
viewable. Is there a way I can bring them back up?

This is a thorny issue that we haven't been able to track down because
nobody with the problem will post any followup information.

I hope you will come back and let us know what works/doesn't work.

First, if you can email me a screenshot of the screen(s) with the missing
layout thumbnails, that would be fantastic. I suspect your slide design
thumbnails are also missing. If so, I'd love a screenshot of that as well.

Also, can you confirm that this happens with all presentations, not just a
particular one? If it's just a particular one, I'd love to get a copy of
that presentation to forward on to the PPT team at Microsoft.

Are you using a tablet PC, by any chance?

I don't think this will resolve the issue, but you should try changing
hardware acceleration (instrux here:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00129.htm ), especially since it's a
quick thing to try, and updating your video/graphics card drivers.

Please see if basic system maintenance helps. Delete the files in your
Temporary Internet Files folder, search for and delete all *.tmp files, and
run a defrag.

You might also see if Help|Detect and Repair fixes it. One user reported
that it fixed it for her for awhile, but then the problem came back. That
leads me to suspect conflicting software, so...

Please boot your computer into Safe Mode and then go to Start|Run and type
in msconfig. Disable all startup items and boot again. That way we can see
if something starting on bootup or running in the background is causing the
issue.

Here's a link to a Google Groups thread with some past posts about this.
