Powerpoint 2007; Added Slide Master, not showing as a layout choice

I am in the middle of a project and found the need to add an additional
layout (actually, a slight modification to an existing layout). When I
return to the Normal View screen and go to add a layout, the one I just
created is not there as a choice. Is someone out there well enough versed
in the creation and modification of the slide master who might have a
solution to this issue?

Thanks,
JJ

Did you add a master or a layout?

If it's a master, or if you have a lot of layouts, you'll probably have to
scroll in that dropdown gallery to see it.

Try renaming it and see if you can pick it out more easily then.

I added a new layout to the existing slide master. When I went back to
normal view and attempted to add a slide using the newly added layout I
could not find it in the dropdown gallery.

Interesting. I've not seen that happen.

I'd start by running Office Button | PPT Options | Diagnostics. Then I'd
reboot.

I'd add the slide layout at the end of the layouts, and I'd rename it so
it's obvious what it is.

Oh, you might also try copying one of the existing layouts and using that as
the basis for your new one...
