Unable to Open 'Control Panel'

Lately, the popup window displays a message
stating "windows explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close " everytime I try to access the 'control
panel' option.

Would be very grateful for any help.

check the file rundll32 to make sure it is not a 0 byte file. There is
spyware out there that will replace this file with an empty file.
