Unable to open any web-sites

Hi:
After non-use for two months, I attempted to open web-sites.
However, 'Action Cancelled' on the top of the screen and not
able to access any web-sites, at all.

Simply, all of web-sites including 'work-off' line refused to
open up upon clicking 'Favorite' on the top, so does Outlook
Express/e-mail.

With a high-speed connection, Comcast, I tested without any problem of
connection.
Other non-I.E. such as Word, My Document and all. has no issue.

Wonder how to fix this?
Did the computer get 'virus' while sitting on the table for two months?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Maple,
Try these steps:
Open a run command and type in:
services.msc click [OK] and try to turn OFF/Disable the windows Update.

Open a run command again and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your computer and see if you will be able to connect.

- Turn the Modem/Router OFF for a minute or so then turn the Computer OFF,
after a while Turn the Modem/Router ON then the Computer ON try the
connection.
- you may have lots of application like, protection software, Windows
updates, other software wanted to update and knocking the connection down
every time you want to connect.
Scan for both malware and Viruses on your system.
HTH.
