Christopher

Trying to install my printer into guest XP in Virtual PC 2007, using HP
software and drivers from HP website, tried twice and goes OK up to final
installation, telling me missing USB drivers and hardware, although printer
is fine on my host Vista Ultimate. How do I get the host virtual XP to
install this printer?? thanks a million...!

You can't Virtual PC does not support USB, try using another Virtual Machine
solution such as VMWare which supports USB 2.0.

Hi Christopher,

Using the Add Printer wizard in your XP in the VM, you need to choose "A
network printer, or a printer attached to another computer".

Your VM and your host are, in effect, 2 separate computers. Your guest
needs to be treated in the exact same way that you would treat a separate
physical computer.

Do you have networkin in the VM using your hosts NIC? You will need to make
sure that Printer sharing is turned on in Vista.
