Just a thought that worked for me from another post....
"Uninstall the driver, then try this trick,
This XP install may work, no guarantee of this.
Here is how to install software or drivers on Vista that are for XP
Dell Drivers must be extracted first, download the Rxxxx.exe files you need from Dell and
use winzip to
extract the files to a folder, then use the following method to install them.
Right click on this setup.exe file and select the compatibility Tab
Tick the "run this file in compatibility mode" box and then select XP in the drop down
box, hit OK
Now double click this setup.exe file to execute the install process, hopefully all will go
well and install the
drivers you need.
I do not guarantee all drivers or software to work but a large percentage do.."
This method will work for other software such as printers using this method, but you may
have to Skip the
Extract part, if the exe does not require it, you will know because there will be no
extract available in winzip for it.
Good Luck!

| Thanks for your reply. I am running 32 bit Vista. I downloaded the HP PCL5
| Driver updpcl5winvista2kxp2003.exe 16.5 MB and the Postcript Driver
| updpswinvista2kxp2003.exe 16.1 MB but neither worked. I did not try the PCL6
| Driver - should I try it? Did I try the correct drivers?
