Install HP printer on vista

I have an hp laserjet 1012 which worked fine on my old computer with XP. Is
there some way to install this? I have downloaded several drivers but am
getting nowhere. Also, the computer doesn't even recognize the printer usb,
it shows up as a storage device???

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Why not contact the HP internet support site?

My parallel port inkjet printer bought in 1998 was found by a standard Vista
install!
