Unable to have a desktop image

My computer has recently been infected with spyware so my dad bought
WinAntivirusPro to remove all spyware. It seems to have suceeded and it says
that my computer now is free from all threats. When it was infected the
desktop showed a red and blue wallpaper with a warning about the spyware.
When my computer was free from virus I thought that I should remove but the
only thing I could replace it with was these different colors that you can
choose to have as a background. I can't mark the wallpapers in the menu and
when I right-click an image and choose to use it as wallpaper it doesn't show.

Here's a screencap of how it looks (Sorry about the swedish, but I guess you
know what it should say):

I'd really like some help because this is seriously annoying!

First off, uninstall WinAntiVirusPro because it is crap, and download
Grisoft's Free AVG Antivirus...much better. Visit free.grisoft.com for
that. Also, there's another great free antivirus program called
Avast!. Google for it to get more info.

But seriously, WinAntivirus is not good stuff.

Ok, thank you. My dad wont be glad when I tell him that he just spent money
on an Antivirus program that doesn't work >_<

I got some good answers in the swedish forum too, which I'm about to try.
It's a thing called "smitfraud.reg". Not sure if it's going to work though, I
have to reboot my computer now and then I'll know.

WinAntivirusPro is malware. Your dad should cancel the credit card
charge immediately. See MVP Eric Howes' site for "rogue antispyware"
applications here:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

You have a variety of the Smitfraud infection. Clean up your computer
by:

1. Run noahdfear's SmitFraud and SpyAxe removal tool -
http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click counter/click.php?id=8
References - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic36868.html
http://malwareremoval.com/plog/index.php?op=ViewArticle&articleId=48&blogId=3

2. Then run David Lipman's tool -
http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/SmitFraud.exe

David's Instructions:
Execute SmitFraud.exe (Note: You must accept the default of C:\McAfee)
Choose Unzip
Choose Close

NOTE: You may have to disable your software firewall or allow WGET.EXE
to go through your firewall to enable WGET.EXE to download the needed
McAfee-related files.

Execute c:\mcafee\clean.bat (or Double-click on 'Clean Link' in c
\mcafee)

A final report in HTML format called C:\mcafee\ScanReport.HTML will be
generated. At the end of the scan, it will be displayed in your browser
(Opera, FireFox or Internet Explorer). It is suggested that you move
the report out of c:\mcafee before performing another scan.

Then continue your housekeeping by going through these steps:

You will of course be getting yourself a real antivirus program,
installing it, updating it, and doing a thorough scan with it in Safe
Mode.

I used the SmitFraud thing and it worked. Yay!
I actually don't think there's any credit card charge because he just bought
it in a computerstore and not through Internet. (If that's what you're
talking about)
But I shall inform him about this anyway. Thanks for the help everyone! :D
