How to delete SpywareStop?

P

peejaa

SpywareStop(formally SpywareBot) has mysteriously appeared on my pc...shows
my pc to be infected with loads of spyware and asks I Register and pay for a
program to get rid of this spyware.
What I'd like to do however is remove this SpywareStop software from my
computer.
Was going to do Start/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs...but
a quick glance on line seems to confirm that SpywareStop may be difficult to
remove.
How best to do this - as simply and inexpensively (well, free really) as
poss?
Thanks.

The link works fine. Perhaps you should cut and paste into your browser in
case it's truncated.

Hello peejaa:

If you are still working on this, with incomplete success, MBAM will
correct the problem:

<http://www.malwarebytes.org/>

It is advised that you run MBAM to rid your system of any remnants or
other malware you may have missed.

This must be some new usage of the phrase "works fine" with which the rest
of us are unfamiliar. If by "works fine" you mean the link doesn't work,
then you are spot on.

Whether or not a posted link works depends on interactions between the
poster's software which might be some version of Outlook Express or a web
page, and the newsgroup server which might be
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general, as well as on interactions between the
reader's software and the newsgroup server. On my OE6 newsreader, the link
works fine. It takes me to a Google search page with "Results 1 - 10 of
about 614,000 for remove spyware stop. (0.31 seconds)". On your newsreader,
perhaps the link is too long, so it gets truncated, and it doesn't work for
you. You can speak for "some of us" for whom the link doesn't work, but
certainly not for all of "the rest of us".
