Unable to convert FAT32 to NTFS after upgrade

Recently upgraded from W98 to XP Pro. File system is
FAT32. Won't let me convert to NTFS. The FORMAT option is
greyed out. 45% free space available (8.39/18.36 MB). How
do I convert?

You wont be able to convert like that. You'd need to do a complete fresh
install and select format to NTFS. You cant format a drive that has the
profile your currently using on it.

You do not use the Format command at this point, use Convert:

It is not necessary to reinstall to convert to NTFS, although that
will work.
Use Convert as stated in my other post to do it much quicker.
