unable to alter the home page

I visited a web called coomedia.com and ever since i have been unable to
change the home page to the one i want it keeps resetting to about:blank the
default home page is now set to coomedia's can someone please tell me how to
get rid of this annoyance without having to reinstall windows

When all else fails, HijackThis
v1.99.1(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to
use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.

Try disabling one of the browser add-ons in the manage add-ons section of the
programs tab for internet options.
