Unable to access Firewall settings in XP Service Pack 2

I am unable to access the firewall settings/options in Wiondows XP Service
pack 2. When I try to open it, I get this error message "Due to an
unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings".
The firewall is in the on position. I need to access the firewall in order
to disable it or set it up to allow my networked computers to connect to
this one.

My version of Service pack 2 came embedded in a newly purchased notebook (Hp
Pavilion zv5000).

Would re-insalling SVC Pack 2 do any good? Please help.

Thanks

Hi there ...

Can you go to the control panel and double click on Windows firewall ?? If
so, there where you can make the changes
