Same here. All TweakUI is, is a convenient registry editor for a bunch of
presets.

Is this gonna turn into one of those "gotta protect an idiot from himself"
threads?

Actually, it looks like it already has.

If you are reading this, you can and should get this freebie. When
utilizing it - be sure to take things slow... Don't go in and change
everything at once. You are learning here - do it the same way you learn
everything else. The fewer changes you do in any one session, the easier it
will be to reverse it if you decide you don't like the change!
Thanks for the advice.
I can't say exactly what happened three years ago, except that I was
trying to uninstall it, but it wouldn't go away. I had to do a complete
system re-start.
Based on all the comments here, no doubt it was just a combination of
my impatience and inexperience that caused my problems.

Thanks for that comment. It takes a big person to admit he was wrong.

That may be the case, but it takes an even bigger person to point and laugh
at that first guy. :-D

Uh...wait...that doesn't work here. On Usenet, everybody already does that.

My boss has it on 3 of his computers. No problems.

6 of my friends and co-workers have it on their home and office computers.

As a lightweight in terms of computer experience, I thought
others like myself might appreciate this warning : tweakui is
currently (Oct. '06) being HEAVILY endorsed by PC World (Nov. '06
issue).
PC World also endorsed tweakui about two or 3 years ago, at which
time I downloaded it. I experienced serious problems. My
advice: NEVER, EVER download tweakui!

Joey0101,

I am confused as to what your response references and why it was made 30
days after the original posting/set of responses that seem to be in the part
of the thread you are replying to.

I am sure you have a reason to attack 'fires1up' or 'Tom Willett' - but I
must be missing that reason in this thread/part of it. Can you enlighten
me?

It's a troll; spewing all over the place today.
