Same here. All TweakUI is, is a convenient registry editor for a bunch of
presets.

Is this gonna turn into one of those "gotta protect an idiot from himself"
threads?

If you are reading this, you can and should get this freebie. When
utilizing it - be sure to take things slow... Don't go in and change
everything at once. You are learning here - do it the same way you learn
everything else. The fewer changes you do in any one session, the easier it
will be to reverse it if you decide you don't like the change!

I can't say exactly what happened three years ago, except that I was
trying to uninstall it, but it wouldn't go away. I had to do a complete
system re-start.
Based on all the comments here, no doubt it was just a combination of
my impatience and inexperience that caused my problems.

I have downloaded and used it without any problems on both my home and
office computers.

My boss has it on 3 of his computers. No problems.

6 of my friends and co-workers have it on their home and office computers.
No problems.

As a lightweight in terms of computer experience, I thought
others like myself might appreciate this warning : tweakui is
currently (Oct. '06) being HEAVILY endorsed by PC World (Nov. '06
issue).
PC World also endorsed tweakui about two or 3 years ago, at which
time I downloaded it. I experienced serious problems. My
advice: NEVER, EVER download tweakui!
