Call ms, tell them you need the patch and nothing else. Don't tell them its
an oem computer. They should give you the patch.

I;m afriad to call microsoft cuz they say they charge you
like $30 per call!! will they automatically charge it on
your phone bill or somthing?

No, it says right on the website they will not charge if this is your only
prob and it fixes you:
Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question.

Tell them this is your problem and nothing else. You should get the patch
for free.

Thanks for the help... seems like I need SP2. need to wait
for that to come out. DO you happen to know when that will
be?

Thanks
Eric

A preview version is now available, but I would not advise putting that
on a production machine unless you first make some image backup so you
can restore things exactly as they are now (you will have to when the
final version comes out even if you have no troubles meantime).
