turning off autofill tips

I've been "upgraded" to Excel 2003 and every time I use the autofill handle
to autofill I get an "autofill option" flag thing floating over the
spreadsheet. I've gone to the options but can not find anywhere to turn this
off (permanently so it won't show up again). Help shows nothing on the
subject. I've noticed other times when similar "help" floaters appear and I
find them very aggravating. Any suggestions?

I don't think you can turn them off. They can be helpful and you will soon
get use to them

There is nothing under edit that turns off the autofill help. Please
understand, I don't want to turn off autofill, just those annoying autofill
"tips" which pop up.

I have been using this version for about a month. There are certain
operations I,ve done for many years and now I get these bloody popups. I am
not getting used to them and they don't give me info I need. I may go back to
an older version if they can't be gotten rid of. The new version gave me
nothing new that I need anyway. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the\at detail. After your earlier suggestion I had looked at this
option in help but it said
" Select to have Excel automatically provide a dialog with special options
when pasting, such as Formatting Only and Link Cells." so I didn't relate it
to the autofill issue. That seems to do the trick
