Turn on 'Automatic Updates'?

A

Abel MacAdam

Hi,

I just got me a brand new Computer. And, of course, I need to reconfigure it
to make it compatible with my personal quirks. Looking around inside the
settings, I found out my 'Automatic Updates' are turned of. But I seem not to
be able to turn it on again.

When I open 'System' in my Configuration screen, and go to the tab
'Automatic Updates', I can not select 'Automatic', nor any other setting that
should be selectable. Can someone point me to a place where I can turn
Automatic Updates on again?

TIA,
Abel

1. Check the Service Manager for "Automatic Update" service
Click Start, select Run and type: Services.msc
Press Enter
Locate the - "Automatic Update"
Make sure the service is not disabled and started.

2. If the service is disabled and cannot be started:

Go to START, Select RUN
Type: regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
Press Ok

3. If all else fails:-
