TTax Internet Access Requirement

Sorry, off topic but I can't find a better ng.
For some reason, the current TTax is requiring Internet access as
one of its system requirements. The only reason that I can think of,
is either activation or to obtain updates before filing.

Has anyone tried to install it yet that can shed some light on the
Internet access (or activation) requirement?

Installed last night, connection is just for updates of which there none as yet.
TT took so much flack in 03 that they discontinued their verification...
