trying to open a saved backup.pst file

Scott

I've exported my outlook emails, contacts, folders, etc.
into a file i called backup.pst and burned it to a CD
(b/c i was backing up all my outlook settings). I then
tried to retrieve all this data i saved when i
reinstalled my Outlook program, but haven't been able to
import this file into my Outlook. I've tried the
following:

1. File, Import/Export, Import from another program or
file, and Import cc: Mail Archive. (I try both)
2. File, Open Personal Folders File (.pst)

Neither work
Every time i tried to install this 'backup.pst' file off
of my cd i get an error message that says the file I'm
trying to copy from is not a personal folders file,
though it does have .pst extension on it.

1. Copy to hard drive
2. Remove read-only attribute.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
