Trojan warning DIALOG BOX (Repeat offender!)

M

Michael Ward

I am constantly being confronted by a dialog box which warns me of a Trojan
and instructs me to run AVG to fix the problem.

The file name is:
C:\System Volume
Information\_restore{8465E2A8-C3D4-4163-B970-DFB629FBE57F}\RP155\A0028242.dll

When I run AVG (daily) it does not detect the file.

I have located the file within my system and run AVG on it. AVG then
informed me that the file is (or contains) a Trojan, it will not however
quarantine the file. Nor am I able to remove/delete the file manually.

Have any of you venerable people a solution to this annoying problem.

To remove that virus file, you'll have to turn-off System Restore,
reboot, then turn it back on. One cannot delete an individual restore
point.

I have done as you suggested and it appears to have worked. Thanks Mike W.
