Trojan Dialler problem

S

Steve

Discovered a trojan dialler on my sisters PC about 2
weeks ago. Succesfully removed dialler with SpyBot.
Unfortunately I do not know how long the dialler has been
on the PC!!
Keep getting message appearing telling me that:
Trojan dialler program located in C:\ System Volume
Information\_restore{CE7*.*}. Use AVG to remove

Unfortunately as the dialler is located in an archive
file AVG does not seem to pick it up (neither do Spybot,
Adaware or X-Cleaner!)

Is there any way to safely remove archived restore points
and if so how??

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Turn off system restore (right click my computer, select properties, goto
system restore tab)
This deletes all old restore points. Which sounds drastic but as you say in
your post, you don't know when the trojan was put on there, so you don't
know you can trust any of those restore points anyway.

Once you've done this and scanned the computer and verified it clean, go
back to system restore and turn it back on again, of course.
