Trojan and other problems.

My AVG antiviral has found the Trojan Backdoor.Niber.E on my computer. The
program was able to remove the activator file (don't know what else to call
it) netdc.exe,so I don't think it can actually run. I could only find
reference to the above name by running "netdc.exe" through Google and
backtracking to see what Trojan it was associated with. Several problems
exist right now and I don't know if they are all associated with the Trojan
or some are separate issues. One, the antiviral program keeps telling me
that I have a Trojan in a Windows restore folder, but neither the antiviral
or I can access that folder to remove it. Apparently something in the
registry is trying to start netdc.exe but can't find it. Second I can't
use system restore, it just refuses to run successfully. Third, I can't
right click on the start button, or on the desktop without the hourglass
appearing and tying up that function until I reboot. I have even tried to
highlight things on the desktop and hit the delete button but the same thing
happens. Once that occurs I can no long switch from window to window since
whenever the curser moves to the tray, the hourglass appears.

Is there a fix for this Trojan? Are the other problems related to the
Trojan, and if not, can I fix them. I am on the verge of backing up
selected items and reinstalling the software.

I'm using a HP media center PC m495c and running Windows media center. I
also have AVG v. 6.0 and Zone Alarm firewall. The windows firewall if
turned on and I keep the antiviral, the firewall and all Windows patches
updated religiously. I am also running EarthLink's full suite of protection
programs and never open any attachments that can harbor viruses. Thanks.

These Trojan writers are very clever ! They seem to get through various
protection software. There is a Trojan detection program called Stinger ,
free to a web search. Find the locations of the trojans after the Stinger
program runs , reboot into Safe Mode and delete them. Scan all backup files
before copies are made. Jym
