Trap 00000006 Exception

Hey my problem is as follows. Windows is not starting.
I'm using windows XP Pro, have the sP2. The worst part is my CD-drive
(although DVDs work) isn't working, and I don't have the original windows CD
with me.
This is very urgent since I have a project deadline.

The type of error is "Trap 00000006 Exception" and windows doesn't even
start in safe mode.

If your machine has a floppy drive, try running a memory diagnostic.

If the memory is OK you will need to put in a working CD or DVD drive
and purchase XP...(be sure to get the same version as is on your machine)

Then boot from the CD and run chkdsk /f

And if worst comes to worst you may need to do a repair installation.

Since it sounds like you need to get up and running soon...
you may be best off to simply remove the harddrive from the machine and
slave it (or put it in an external USB2 enclosure) to another machine
running Win2k, XP or Vista...then retrieve your data from there
