transfer of e-mail messages from one computer to another

i don't know if this is possible given the limitations of my old computer
(over 8 yrs old, can't burn cds and can't read/use flash drives)
but i now have a laptop w/vista (windows mail) and want to import/export
messages from outlook express on my old desktop

i'm kind of an e-mail pack rat and i've got tons of info in old e-mails that
i can't part with. i'm hoping there is some way to do this (and not have to
spend days/weeks e-mailing everything to myself!!)

as it stands right now, i've been switching my cable modem back and forth
b/w the two computers, depending on which one i need to use. but i'd really
like to make the leap to my new laptop completely.

any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated -

Do both your old computer and your new one have floppy drives?

Here's some instructions for transferring from Outlook Express under XP.
I don't know if they also work for transferring from Outlook Express
under older versions of Windows.
