How to import mails from another computer?

I'm installing a brandnew Vista Home machine and like to import all e-mails
from the old Vista Home computer (both on Windows Mail). The old computer
has gone south, but there is an image (on an external hard-drive) of drive
C: and on mounting that image, I'm having access to all files. Don't know
where to search and how to proceed that "import" of all e-mails and all
addresses (no newsgroups).

Thanks for the hint!
Found out, that just copying the whole Windows Mail folder (including all
subfolders) out of the (backup-)image to the new installation would do the
trick. You've to close Windows Mail on the running computer before doing
that move.

And how about? Can you explain the potential problems if you please?

Computer is still running excellent. Including Windows Mail.

All the settings such as message rules are in the registry as are the
default accounts.
