Transfer of data from old XP drive in USB cuddy to new Vista Compu

Hi,
My old XP computer died, I have put the HD in a USB cuddy as the connections
inside the new computer are different. I have never used Vista, but now I
need to transfer as much as possible from my old drive.
Can someone tell me what I will be able to transfer and possibly post some
links on how to do it?
IE addresses, programs?

You can copy over any of your data (i.e. documents, spreadsheets etc.) -
you may have to search a bit for your favourites they will will be
somewhere like:

C:\Documents and Settings\Gary\Favorites

if you used to sign on to XP as Gary.

Programs are a different matter, many of them will have to be re-installed
since they may use the registry or require support files (like dlls).

The drive letter has changed for the XP disk. Repairing it to boot is not
easy in any case. Windows Easy Transfer will extract data and settings, but
it needs a booted system to do it. Your resources for doing that will
determine how you go at it. If you can't boot the old drive in another
system (maybe a rental), you will probably be forced to just browse for data
on the old drive, and copy it over to Vista.

I meant to put Outlook Express addresses not IE addresses is it possible to
transfer these?

I don't know if Windows Mail will import from OE - perhaps somebody else
can confirm that. I am in the process of re-installing XP at the moment,
Vista is giving me a strom.
