Transferring email to new computer with Vista

How do I transfer my old emails from my old XP computer to my new Vista
computer? I'm using an external hard drive to do the transfer. I was able
to transfer my addresses over but not sure how to get the emails. Thank you
for any help you can give.

Outlook Express: File > Export > Messages

Windows Mail: File > Import > Messages > Microsoft Outlook Express 6 >
Import mail from an OE6 store directory > Browse

When I tried to export my messages I get this error message. An error
occurred while initalizing MAPI Not sure what that means.

Outlook express data is located here on your old drive
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Identies\SOME WERID
COMBO OF LETTERS AND NUMBERS\microsoft\Outlook Express

From within the new Windoze Mail use import and browse to this folder.
