track ID problems using Nero

I'm burning mp3,s to disc using nero 5.5.10.54.When i've burnt the files,the
cd i've copied, to when
accessed through the start/run/browse/d drive, the files only show up as
track 1,track 2,etc,and
are not recognised by name,so what will i need to do to correct this?

For what it's worth, all my mp3's filenames are saved as
artist/album/track/title.

e.g. carol king - tapestry - 02 - so far away.mp3

All the propertiess of each file show the artist/title/album/genre/duration
etc etc,so if anyone can help fix this i'd really appreciate it,as it's
REALLY bugging me!

I originally posted a couple of weeks ago, and,Jake,i'm still baffled.

Thanks in advance.

If you are having problems with Nero you need to contact them. try burning
with WMP.

hey if you use the 9 series media player you can get a
plug in run in the background. when you burn the cd it
applies id3 tag which attaches title,s and other info.
yellow book format I believe. I have found it most useful
with audio equip. with the capability. Now if you use
nero and to create it, or manually you can set up a
database or use the internet base for nero. you can go to
options and configure it too. jtripp

I love these kind of responses, they are so valuable to
solving problems (heavy sarcasm.) It is reminiscent of
call your Baby Bell ISP and asking them to help you with
a problem and they say, that's a Microsoft problem. You
call MS and they say, talk to your ISP it is a problem on
their end. Thank you for helping to enable the endless
loop of problem solving evasion.

One: Microsoft can not support third party software. Use the software in XP
or contact the third party.

You can post your question here for any subject. but chances are it will
not get a correct answer.

Looks to me like you are burning an audio CD. If you want to keep the
files as mp3's with the titles intact, you need to burn them as a data
CD.

I thought that to, but nobody has explained how to retrieve the
filenames.

I burn audio cd's from mp3's using Nero with "Write CD Text" option
turned on, but WMP9 and other programs I've tried can't read the text.
I found a program that will retrieve the text, so I know it's there, I
just haven't found a program that will read it and play the music at
the same time.

Cheers Greg.

You'd have thought that it would just save the filenames regardless of
whether or not you burn as audio or data.I'm sure there IS a way of doing
it,and have posted in several groups in an effort to get the answer.
I'll keep you posted if I get any results ok!
