Problem with Notebook Toshiba Satellite P25-S487 (P4-3,06GHz HTT/512Mb RAM/60
Gb HDD/Nvidia GeForce FX Go5200 32Mb/DVD-CDRW/802.11b/IEEE 1394).
After I installed SP2 I have the following problem: when I try to insert an
SD memory card into integrated SD slot the Blue Screen of Death apears and
notebook immediatly reboots. After reboot there are no messages about
incorrect system shut down, notebook boots up without any problems. There are
no errors or warnings in the event log. Only this information event:
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date: 21.08.2004
Time: 20:38:37
User: N/A
Computer: notebook
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x10000050
(0xf8568000, 0x00000000, 0xf8567fff, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini082104-05.dmp.

I found out the walkaround: If SD card is inserted before I start the
notebook- then I can access the information on the SD card, I can get it out,
then insert again and in this case there will be no Blue Screen.

But I'm not completely satisfied by this walkaround, besides that there was
no this problem before I installed SP2! I downloaded the latest BIOS from
www.toshiba.com, but it didn't help.
Any ideas???

Thank you for your attention.
I've found out the resolution: The problem was with SD driver, that was
installed with SP2. I reinstalled the SD driver for the notebook from
www.toshiba.com and now everything works.
One more moment:
The driver from Toshiba has a date 01.10.2002 and has digital signer:
Microsoft Windows Publisher - this driver WORKS correctly.
The driver from Windows XP SP2 had a date 04.05.2004 and there wasn't any
Digital Signer - this driver DID NOT WORK.
