Just had a CTD after about two hours of playing, think its going to be down to having Exclusive Fullscreen turned back on.....

Try it off again.

TD, what NV drivers are you running?

EDIT: Installed the 314.14 drivers (was running the 314.07) (originally they were causing issues, but they seem fine post patch) Running better for me now. :)

Ok Now I am really annoyed

Steam crashed. Completely locked me out so I had to restart PC after doing so I tried TR again.

Steam is now telling me I need to install Tombraider. AARRGGHHHHHHHH!!!

Just been to see if I can Verify and its telling me it ain't even installed. It is because I can see it on the separate drive I installed the Steam library onto for the game

Now I am ****ed. Two or three hours worth of game play gone and over 2hours worth if installation down the drain....

You could try deleting your clientregistry.blob file. That may fix it?

Ah good to hear. :)

Steam is good at fixing itself, deleting that clientregistry.blob file thats in Steams root install folder usually fixes most issues if needed...

Also, not sure if this makes a difference, but I've opted into the Steam beta updates, always have done, Never caused me any problems. :)

Second patch is now live on Steam:

We have just made public a new version of the PC version of Tomb Raider, build 1.0.722.3. This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.

In addition to various PC specific fixes this patch brings all the fixes available in the 1.02 console patch to the PC as well, but note that the majority of those was already included in the originally released PC game or version 718.4.

New fixes in 722.3:

- Addressed an issue in ”Shipwreck Beach” where the mast on the wooden ship was occasionally missing depending on the player’s path.
- Fixed a gating issue in “Research Bunker” where the elevator would get stuck in an unintended state.
- Fixes for multiplayer connectivity
o An issue related to security certificates that stopped many users from connection to Square Enix servers was resolved.
o Improved messages when you are unable to connect with Square Enix servers.
- Improvements to voice-chat for multiplayer
o New Push-To-Talk feature, by default mapped to F1.
o New voice-chat volume option.
o Improved overall quality of voice-chat.
- Fixes for crashes on startup in specific situations when no audio output is available.
- Fixes for various reported crashes during both single-player and multi-player.
- Movies are showing up again when using SSAA.
- Cost of TressFX reduced, especially in combination with SSAA.
- TressFX memory usage reduced for AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA Surround setups.
- TressFX simulation and graphical quality improvements.
- New Ultra-quality shadow mode for contact hardening shadows. This is not enabled by default in any quality profile, but can be enabled from the advanced settings.
- Improvements to fullscreen/windowed switching and multiple display handling.
- Various UI improvements.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build718.4, that can be used to switch back to the previous version. Please note however that you can only play multiplayer with people that share your version.

We’ve been working closely with NVIDIA to address the issues experienced by some Tomb Raider players. In conjunction with this patch, NVIDIA will be releasing updated drivers that help to improve stability and performance of Tomb Raider on NVIDIA GeForce GPUs. We are continuing to work together to resolve any remaining outstanding issues. We recommend that GeForce users update to the latest GeForce 314.21 drivers (posting today) for the best experience in Tomb Raider.

We are planning further patches beyond this one to address various issues that have come out of consumer feedback since the release of the game.

Also, If you missed it....

Apparently the difference with the new patch and new driver is huge, seem people saying their performance going up by about 30%. I'll give it a go in a bit, as i kind of put this game on hold waiting for these. That and i'm taking advantage of the BF3 x2 XP weekend. :D

Welp, I've still had no issue with the game, it's running just fine, running Nvidia 314.07 drivers.

On the game, now at 65%, 18 hours played and 13/50 achievments. There have been some difficult parts, imo, some of which required employing brain, others just figuring out which buttons/keys to press.

And... finished.

That wuz good :)

Apparently I have completed 72% of all the game and they tell me I can go back to the island and complete 'unfinished business'. Not quite sure what they mean by this but I suspect it probably means just finding items, which imo will likely be a bit dull, so won't bother, finishing the storyline was good enough for me.

21 hours spent on the single player game, which is a bit better than what the CoD series has offered for their last few single player games.

Finally finished this after being distracted by various other games, It's actually a really good game, despite the QTE's.

24 hours almost to the minute and I did 100%, got a bit anal towards the end, was up to about 96% so i figured I had to do it properly!

Also if your wondering, its been patched a bunch of times so all the issues in this thread are no more too. :)

Steam Summer Sale will be on soon, if this isn't on cheap I'll eat my GPU! Get it if its on sale, will be well worth it. :thumb:
