Tom, thanks for your reply.
I tried your method and it seems to be helping some.
When I refer to the "start up programs", I am referring
more about other programs that start up on boot up, and
then place an icon in the sys tray (by the clock in the
lower right on the monitor. Most of these are competing
with one another to load and run.
If I'm lucky, I can get the task bar to come up and shut
them down from that, or wait until they load up, and
release enough memory of the 100% being used by the CPU.
I then have to go to each one and click on the icon and
close them out.
