To install over or clean

Hello, since I have 1.0.615 and I downloaded 1.0.701 two days ago, I'm
trying to decide if I run the new version's install program with my current
version installed or I uninstall it and install fresh. Any hints? Thanks.

You'll get advice both ways, but the download is intended to be able to
upgrade the existing code in place. If you do it that way, a reboot will be
required.

If you do choose to uninstall, I'd consider going further: To really start
fresh, I'd recommend blowing away the current \program files\microsoft
antispyware folder and all subfolders.

You'd lose access to any quarantined items, history, and custom settings.

That would result in a cleaner start than simply uninstalling, which leaves
all of that behind.

There are other items--registry entries, and items in other system
folders--but I've never found those to be worth bothering with except for a
specific bug in some early .6xx versions.
