MSAS Autoupdater not updating to version 1.0.701

About 2 weeks ago, I got a message asking me to install a new software
version. I did not have time to do it that moment and selected the "remind me
in one day" option. Since then, no further reminders were sent and whenever I
try to manually download updates (i.e. "file" > "check for updates"), I get a
message that "most recent software installed". Checking the version installed
("help" > "About MASA") I have version 1.0.615 installed, which expires in
19 days.

Is there any reason why the automatic and manual updaters do not detect that
my version is older than the current one (1.0.701) and download the newer
version?

I would appreciate any advice!

Thanks,

Danny

Go to the Anti spyware site and just download the latest version.
It will overwrite the old one.

Agreed - I allowed the last beta version to reach its end-date, sort of
expecting it to update to the new version via the "checking for new software"
element of the updating process. 'Twas not the case, of course... *Rolls
eyes.* Similarly, although I checked the FAQ regarding uninstalling the old
version first, this issue wasn't covered at the time, so - in the spirit of
trial and error - I just went ahead and installed the new version over the
old. It all went smoothly, and my preference options (scheduled scans, etc.)
were carried over in addition to all of the recent spyware signatures.
Beta versions often vary as to the updating procedure - they all have their
little quirks!
