Ok, I know MS wants to "protect" me, but how do I turn this off now ?

I get sent a ton of ZIP files form my users every day, after todays update
every time I right click to uncompress the zip files, I get this warning
"This page has an unspecified potential security risk" "Would you like to
continue"

How do I turn this off forever !

Make sure that you create a backup of the registry key before making any changes.

Open Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\1\180D

The value for this key should be set to 0 (zero) by default.

I had done a google search on this first, and did see a thread talking about
that. And when I checked that reg value was already at "0"

OK, as you have seen, there is not a lot of information on this error message yet.

You might want to identify whatever updates you have installed recently and uninstall them, one by one, testing the result with each uninstall. This includes IE7, if you have installed the new browser.

Please post back with the results so that we can document this.

Yes, it was I.E. 7 that caused the problems. After un installing it, I've got
my right click back on ZIP files if there on the network.

I'll be keeping an eye out on the thread to see if they fix this. I.E. 7
was looking nice.

I have a better solution...

After installing IE7 open it, go to tools>Internet Options>Security>Local Intranet
And set it to low... Basically IE7 added a "local intranet" for "websites" hosted on your local intranet (ie, your home network...)... So it consider local zip and html files as "locally hosted websites"... and warns you about opening them because the default security settings for it is "medium-low" instead of just low...

EDIT: Sorry about that, it seems I accidently clicked on a rar file to test it out... it actually doesn't seem to work... so no solution for this one...
