Hi,

I have XP home edition.
There is no Run command item when I click the Start button. When I press the window key and R key, I got a message saying This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.

How can I fix it? Thank you.

Does the user account you're using have administrative privileges?

Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and run the tweak on
line 57, right-hand sisde.

I checked the User Accounts. The Guest account is off. The only account is
the administrator. But I not sure what privileges it has.

It works now. Thank a lot. It has two other problem.
1 The Turn off Computer item disappear when I click the Start button.
2. I cannot right click the mouse on an item of Explorer to get the
context menu.

Using mouse right click on Start button and select Properties,Start Menu
tab,
Customise (Start menu), Advanced tab. Scroll down in Start Menu Items box
and check box before "Run Command".

Hope this helps.

I would suggest that you go to Control Panel and personalize each and
every
setting to your liking. If you right click on any item a What's This
will appear and
fully explain each and every setting. You would have found the answer
under the settings for Taskbar and Start Menu.
