the recovery discs don't work

when i insert disc 1 it asks me for number3 and when i insert # 3 it says
that they are not the discs for that comp and woun't allow me to preinstall
the windows
i don't have the windows xp disc just the 5 recovery discs

Make sure the CDs and drive are clean.

You will need to contact the computer manufacturer.
The recovery disks are unique to the computer manufacturer and they are the
experts.
Or you could find a forum that supports your make and model of computer.

Yeah - unfortunately every restoration process I have ever seen ends up
being different than most other manufacturers and even different than
sometimes the restoration process from the week before.

Your ONLY support for those is the reseller of your computer.

try inserting the disks in number order eg... when it asks for disk 5
put in disk 1 then 2 and 3,4,5

its worth a try any way.
