The "File->Save" option is grey

At first I was installing WildTangent.
Somehow the installer crashed, and left some garbage, I think, which I can't
remove from control panel.
And now my ie6 sp1 can't save webpage anymore: the menu option of
"file->save" is always grey!
I tried to reinstall WildTangent, but failed.
And also have ie6 reinstalled, still the same.
The OS is win2000 sp4.

I may be missing something here but why are you deliberately trying to
install a parasite?

Have you looked in your Registry to see if it was
effected? Check
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions. Click on restrictions
and see if NoBrowserSaveWebComplete is listed in the right
side of the widow. If it is, and it is set to (1) then
your Save As menu should be unavailable. Double click on
NoBrowserSaveWebComplete and change the value data to 0.
This should re-enable the Save As menu, IF this setting is
what caused it to be disabled in the first place.

Hello,

What is the Operating System? If it is Windows XP, you can use the
following steps to modify the l Local Group Policy:

1. Input "gpedit.msc" to open the Local Group Policy
2. Locate "Console Root\Local Computer Policy\User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer\Browser menus
3. Double click the "File menu: Disable Save As menu option" entry.

4. Choose the Policy tab, then choose the Not Configured radio box.

Further questions, let us get in touch!

Oh yes, "NoBrowserSaveWebComplete" is set to 1 in the registry.
Thanks.
Though I don't know what else wildTangent had done on my pc, it's ok now.
