Thanks Gary. For some reason my own posts don't show up in my in my news
list. I read your reply on the msnews web page. Thanks JP
You can't stop History from listing My Computer items. I have no trouble
right-clicking My Computer in History and deleting it with no affect on the
other items. You can also selectively delete History items by finding them
in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\History\.

You're welcome

If you want to get the best results from newsgroups, stop using that MS
website and start using a real newsreader -- like Outlook Express. Just
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

No password, no username, no nothing. Just make sure that when you're
prompted to input an email address you use one that is entirely bogus, like
the following:

nobody_at_nothing.not

Spammers harvest email addresses from newsgroups. Don't use a real email
address (or one that could even be real, since it might be someone else's),
and don't put a real one into the body of your message. For instance, when I
want to list my real email address, I write it thusly:

gary_at_grystmill.com (that's not my real address, but it could be.)

Thanks Again Gary; I was posting via OE. I was only reading the posts on the MS
website. When I post via OE my posts are being listed on the MS server but when I
download new headers my posts are not downloaded to my machine. I have posted to
this forum many times before with no problems. I downloaded a free news reader and I
am posting from it now. Any idea what my problem with OE is? Thanks JP

Not off the top of my head, and I'm going to be away a lot for the next few
days. Maybe ask in an OE group? Or someone will come along with the links...
