Terminal Services

My company is considering purchasing a application that
only works on Windows (it uses ActiveX controls) and so
we are considering using Terminal Services so that the
MAC users can access the application. Does anyone know
if you need to purchase Terminal Services Licensing
Manager or just enable it for application use? Also has
anyone done this before? If so, I would greatly
appreaciate any info.

Thanks

Each client requires a Terminal Services Client Access Licence.
If you don't have TS CALs, you will get temporary licences for (I don't
recall if it's 30 or) up to 90 days, then the client won't be able to
connect.

Thanks Sandy,

Do I need to purchase the Client Access Licenses or does
it just come out of the pool of licenses that I have?
This arena is all new to me, so I really nned help?

Hi Marie,

if you've already purchased Client Access Licences AND they haven't yet been
used (allocated), they should be automatically allocated to machines when
they connect.
Once allocated to a machine, I don't know if its possible to reallocate a
licence to a new/different machine (usually against Microsoft's licence
agreements).
