Terminal Services / Internet Branding

R

Rhinehold

Hello all, I've got an odd problem. I have a couple users who can not
log into some of our Windows 2003 Terminal Servers. When they log in
they are get told that the computer is 'applying your personal
settings' (profile/GPO) and then just kicks them out.

In the Event Log I see:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1091
Date: 10/9/2003
Time: 12:07:31 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: HCOAI000
Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Internet Explorer Branding
failed to log RSOP (Resultant Set of Policy) data. Please look for any
errors reported earlier by that extension.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

We do have a GPO for all computers that sets their list of trusted
sites to ones that are in our domain (*.domain.com). That is all that
this GPO does. It works for everyone but a couple of users, I have no
idea what is different between them and ones that do work. If I
create a new user ID for them, they work.

Any ideas? Something in their roaming profile?

Thanks

This behavior may occur if you have a Microsoft Windows 2000 domain that
includes Windows Server 2003-based servers, and you apply Internet Protocol
security (IPSec) policies by using Group Policy.
These event messages appear in the Application event log every time that
these policies are applied on the Windows Server 2003-based servers. These
events do not appear in the Windows 2000 Server Application event log.

Event ID 1091 and Event ID 1085 Appear in the Application Event Log WGID:610
ID: 823608
