Missing Terminal Services Policy options Windows 2000 sp4

Hello,

I am trying to enable remote desktops on all machines in an OU via a
GPO on a Windows 2000 server sp4...however, when I go to modify the
GPO to say that all computers are to enable remote desktop, I cannot
find an option to do so. Arcticles that I have read regarding the
policy say that it is located under Computer Configuration-
Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Terminal Services -
Clients. The only option I see at this location is "Do not allow
passwords to be saved".

The "Terminal Services" folder above the Clients folder also has just
two options:
- "TS user home directory"
- "Set path for TS Roaming Profiles"

Can anyone help me out? I am not sure if I am looking in the right
place in the Group Policy snap-in.

Thanks

Most of the TS related policy options were added in 2003. I'd check to see
if these options are supposed to exist for 2000.

You'll have to upgrade and edit the policies from an XP Pro client, I
recommend installing the latest adminpak.msi for Windows Server 2003 and/or
Group Policy Management Console on the XP Client you use.

What I meant is that even if your AD is 2003, if your TS are 2000, many of
the policy settings do not apply, as they require 2003 as a minimum version
to apply.

I understand what you were saying, but the OP has a Win2k Domain and he's
trying to enable the Remote Desktop on XP clients (Below). Those objects
don't natively exist in a Win2k Domain, so he needs to upgrade his GPOs. In
order to do that, he has to edit his policies from an XP or Win2k3 machine.

Very well. If he's trying to apply this policy to XP Pro, VIsta or 2003, this
will work.
