Temporary Internet Files.

I have two TIF folders in XPsp3. Only one computer user.

1. C:\documents and settings/Fred/local settings/TIF
2. C:\documents and settings/Fred/local settings/temp/TIF/Content IE5/list
of folders.
Using IE7/tools/internet options/delete/delete all, this will delete all
the TIFs in No 2 but will not delete the TIFs in No 1.
If I use my Acronis Program to delete TIFs both No 1 and No 2 will be
deleted.
I guess my question is should I have both TIF folders ? What I can't
understand is why two TIFs under Fred. In the Win95/98 only one TIF.
Some input please.

One is for Internet temp files and the other is for all other temp
files. If you want a good cleaner, check out Crap Cleaner at

I'll second that. I've been using CCleaner for a couple of years now, it
works like a charm and it's free. Another applications you may want to look
at, albeit not free, is Webroot's Window Washer which also does an excellent
job.

If what you say is true how does WX clean out the Local Settings/TIF from
time to time ?
As I see it the Local Settings/TIF never get clean out with Win.

Uncle Ben,
Acroins does all of that plus more.

There must be more to this !

Go read my first post. I can not delete the local settings/TIF with a IE7
or WX command. Disk clean up will not delete it. The other TIF can be
deleted.

To each is own. Acronis never worked for me. Acronis' own user Forums and
Wilders Security Forums are packed with the non-sense and havoc caused by
Acronis. Good if it worked for you ... it sure didn't for me, as it didn't
for so many others, hence the reason Acronis Privacy Expert is no longer
available. Incorporating the same faulty code into other applications
didn't do much, obviously, to address the issues.

Acronis True Image 11 (Build 8,053) is one of the best software programs on
the market today. There is a later version now and I bet it is great.
I'm sure there are hundreds using this forum that use ATI. I hve no idea
about Acronis Privacy Expert, never used.

.... and I'm one of them. But I'm having problems with the 2009 version,
and counsel testing it on one's own system to at least the stage of
having made a backup, verified it, and recovered using it. Before
doing this, make an external image with your older version, and
ensure that you have at least one recovery CD from the older
version; you'll need both, since the 2009 version changes the
"press F11" Recovery Manager. The external image should be
made _just_ before installing the 2009 version, of course.
