tcp/ip cp error 2

I'm running wxp sp2 at home and from one moment to another the following
error is appearing any time i want to establish an vpn connection.
"tcp/ip cp error 2: the system cannot find the file specified." when
registering the connection int the remote network.
Any one knows how to handle this problem, please don´t advise me to
reinstall the operating system, because choosing that way i´d rather prefer
to quit using microsoft products.

I've tryied already the kb you´ve send to me and also

checked the winsock with netdiag /test:winsock
and reset the ip stack with netsh int ip reset
i´m getting frustraded with this.
