Tasks on Outlook Today - Custom

I am having a little trouble using my Outlook Today screen. The problem I am
having is that the options provided for displaying tasks are both more
difficult to use than useful. I have the choice between having either Today's
Tasks, or All Tasks display (with the ability to sort, and the ability to
have non-dated tasks display or not display in either option).

I am a graduate student, and put all my assignments for the semester in my
tasks at the begining of each semester. Having something like 7 days of
upcoming due dates would be very useful, but the program doesn't offer that
option (the way it does for appointments).

Does anyone know if there is a way (preferably a simple, non C++ way) to add
this functionality to Outlook Today?
