taskbar will not lock/search assistant toolbar

recently, when I boot my computer, the taskbar looks different than before. it is locked, there is a "search assistant" toolbar on the right-hand side, and my quicklaunch icons are condenced (I have to click on the little arrow to see more than the first three.) Each time, I unlock the toolbar, uncheck the search assistant toolbar, re-size my icons area, and re-lock the toolbar. but, my settings are all changed again at next reboot. can anyone help??

The "Search Assistant" bar is a malware, and it seems to reset the Taskbar settings.

Type the command in RUN box.
Regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System32\omniband.dll

Then, rename C:\Windows\System32\omniband.dll to old_omniband.dll and restart Windows.

Download all the spyware cleaners and run them.

If the Taskbar preferences are not saved, apply the fix 240 at Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp tweaks.htm
(Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar - This repairs the taskbar)

If nothing helps, run this program and post the Log file here:
