Taskbar question

When I deselect the language bar it disappears, which is what I want.
However, the next time I log on or restart the computer, it appears again in
the taskbar.

How can I deselect / hide the language bar and not have it become active
again until I select it?

Cheers.

Hi

Right click on the Language Bar and select Settings>Language Bar - uncheck
'Show Language Bar on the Desktop'.

Right on, but now the language bar option does not appear in the toolbar
menu, is there a way to reactivate when needed? Thanks.

Hi

It should still be there if you right click the Taskbar and then select
Toolbars.

Not there. Unchecked the option 'show lb on the desktop' and now 'language
bar' does not appear in the toolbar drop down menu... is there a way to
reacquire?

Also, the Language Bar tab under Preferences in the Text Services and Input
Language windows is grayed out, not able to be selected. hmmmm....

Hi

That's odd - the LB shows here on the Toolbar drop down menu. You can put
the LB back on the Taskbar via Control Panel>Regional and Language Options.

Per previous post, the LB tab is not able to be selected within the Regional
and Lang Options windows.

Just a note... When I log into a different account, the LB tab shows up and
is able to be selected. So, how can I regain access to this tab in the
account where I unchecked ‘show LB on the desktop’? Thanks.

Hi

Are you using English(United States) Language? If so, what is in the drop
down menus on the Regional Options and Advanced tabs?

Yes and English (United States) appears in both the Regional Options and
Advanced tab drop down menus.

I’ve been able to get ‘Language Bar’ to show up in the ‘Toolbars’ drop down
menu in the taskbar, however, it doesn’t do anything when checked. Also, the
‘Language Bar’ button within the ‘Text Services and Input Languages’ window,
accessed when you click ‘Details’ under the Languages tab within the Regional
and Language Options window, remains inaccessible.

I guess I’ll chalk this one up as a mystery, and address it more seriously
when I need to use the language bar. Joy. I guess I should have just left
well enough alone. Lesson learned.

Unchecked - still no access to the Language Bar tab in this window, strange,
all I did was uncheck 'show language bar on the desktop' in settings. Now
I'm worried further attempted fixes, which is what this started out as, will
only screw more things up. Thanks for input...
