Taskbar problem - no auto-hide

Dell Inspiron 4150 running XP Home Edition. All current SP's and updates
have been applied as of last week. Not sure exactly when this behavior
started but....

The taskbar auto-hide feature is selected, but it never hides.

Any ideas?
